Is Visibility into Inventory a Game Changer?

PlaidTie_SideBySideSome 78% of local searches conducted on a mobile phone result in a purchase, and 73% of those purchases are made in-store, according to the 2014 Local Search Study from Neustar. To put in another way nearly 4 out of every 5 local searches end up in a purchase and nearly 3 out of every 4 of those purchases are in an “offline” retailer.

Google also reported that 1 out of every 5 searches has local intent, combine it with the statistics from Neustar and one can surmise that at better than 1 out of every 7 searches ends up with a purchase in a local store. Another statistic of interest was that 3 out of every 4 searches into mobile led to traffic to an offline store

What content are mobile users looking for? In addition to the basic “information on the go” details, such as Address, phone number and hours; product availability, price and options also help drive traffic and purchases.
